Look for that relationship in the pairs of words in the answer choices. A simile is a comparison between two different things using the word "like" or "as." Common Core State Standards require students to be able to identify and analyze similes and other figurative language techniques at around the third or fourth grade level. I then have them make the same annotations I did to show the word relationships.
